Qualifying children will be invited to register on a first-come, first-in basis according to the screening process below. Children who pass the screening for Gifted Preschool, and who successfully complete the program, may automatically qualify for DVU
General education, tuition-based preschool programs offer opportunities for children from the ages of 2 to 5 years old. Options for 2-, 3-, or 5-days per week, half or full day are available. The options will vary by age and site.

PRESCHOOL Summer camp program for children ages 3-5
This summer camp provides an opportunity for students who are identified as gifted to participate in a summer camp designed specifically for their needs. Gifted students will benefit from the time spent with their intellectual peers in these fun and intellectually engaging courses created and run by gifted-trained teachers.
Enrolled DVUSD Students and non-DVUSD students are welcome to attend; a report with gifted scores is required. Gifted identification requires a psychologist's report or CogAT scores. Siblings of gifted students are also welcome to attend. DVUSD Students: We will verify gifted identification for students who are enrolled in a DVUSD school after you enroll.
Non-Enrolled DVUSD Students (homeschooled, charter or private schools): Parents enrolling students who are not enrolled in a DVUSD school will need to provide gifted identification scores. Send documentation to giftedservices@dvusd.org for approval prior to enrolling in Gifted Rocks - SURVIVOR AND QUIZZES & QUESTS. Please note that academic achievement scores and report cards are not gifted identification.

QUEST FOR THE LOST TREASURE (Grades 1-3, 4-6, 7-8) Join the ultimate treasure hunt! Campers will embark on a journey filled with cryptic clues, treasure maps, and puzzle-filled quests as they search for the Lost Treasure. Each day, they’ll solve riddles, decode ancient symbols, and unlock hidden secrets that bring them closer to the treasure.
ADVENTURE QUEST (Grades 1-3, 4-6) Embark on exciting quests where adventurers solve mysteries, complete challenges, and explore new worlds through teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving!
GAMES GALORE! (Grades 1-3, 4-6) Students will be introduced to a variety of board games which help develop critical thinking, problem-solving, strategic planning, and decision-making. Playing these "unplugged" games also fosters social skills like turn-taking, cooperation, and sportsmanship, all while providing a fun and engaging way to interact with others.
MIND OVER MATTERBRAINS (Grades 1-3, 4-6) This week students will be exploring a topic of their choice and creating their own Jeopardy games for us all to enjoy.
BOARD GAME QUEST (Grades 1-3, 4-6) Students will use creativity and innovation to engage in the creative and strategic process of designing their own board game while developing critical thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
BREAK THE CODE (Grades 1-3, 4-6) Get ready to think fast and work as a team in this escape room-inspired adventure! Campers will tackle mind-bending puzzles and strategy challenges to unlock clues, crack codes, and escape before time runs out. Adventurers will create their own escape rooms.
SPY QUEST (Grades 4-6, 7-8) Mystery awaits as students complete various challenges requiring memory games, cipher disks, case files, hidden messages and more...
BRAIN QUEST: THINK, SOLVE, CONQUER (Grades 4-6, 7-8) Description: Are you up for the challenge? Test your wits in rapid-fire quizzes, unravel cryptic puzzles, and embark on immersive quests where teamwork and logic are the keys to success. The ultimate brain-powered adventure awaits!
ARE YOU "SMARTER THAN A MIDDLE-SCHOOLER:" (Grades 4-6, 7-8) Students will design/create gameshow-based challenges with a different theme each day - 'Price is Right', 'Jeopardy!', 'Wheel of Fortune', '$100,000 Pyramid', 'Hollywood Squares'.
MONSTERS, MYTHS AND MAJOR DELAYS (Grades 4-6, 7-8) Create short plays inspired by The Odyssey. Students take the stage with set design, costume design, script writing, acting and directing. (STEAM)
